Facebook to be unblocked in China for APEC Summit

China’s internet censors will lift their ban on Facebook during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Beijing beginning this week, reports Singapore’s Lianhe Zaobao.

If this actually happens, it will be the first time China will have loosened its internet restrictions for a major international event.  It is also understood that censors will also be lifted on Google and the BBC.

Blocked since 2009

Popular sites like Facebook, Youtube and Google have been blocked in China since 2009.

What This Means for Facebook (FB) stock

While this is a temporary lift on the Facebook ban for an international event, it does give hope for Facebook to one day be able to expand into the most populated country in the world.

Such a possibility is why we remain positive Facebook is currently undervalued at $75/share and is positioned to be a HUGE long-term success story and a staple in your portfolio.
